Many of our guests have incorporated a cyclosportive event into their Pyrenean visit for the experience of it or as part of their training plan.

If you would like to enter any of the following races/ events listed below (or any others not mentioned here), we can assist with race entries and provide logistical support, if required.

Please note that to enter any cyclosportive event, it is required that you have a suitable race license such as FFC (British Cycling Federation or other international licenses are not accepted) or provide a medical certificate from your doctor stating that you are fit to compete in such an event.

  Tour de France in the Pyrenees
Ronde de L'Isard
May 2014 - International U23 4 day stage race in the Midi Pyrenees.

Montée du Géant du Tourmalet
7th June 2014 - Each year the famous Géant sculpture of Octave Lapize is transported to the summit of the Tourmalet after spending the winter in Bagneres de Bigorre. Cycle in the procession accompanying the Géant to the top of the Tourmalet. This is a free event and anyone can join in.

La Route du Sud Pro Tour
20th - 22nd June 2014 - La Route du Sud is a UCI 3 day stage race around the Midi-Pyrénées.

Pedals de Foc Ultra Marathon Mtb
27th - 29th June 2014 - Cross-country mountain bike raid in the Val d'Aran, Spain. 218km with 6,200m of climbing/ descending. Entry opens 1st March and closes 13th June. Accommodation, food and other services are included in the entry fee.

L'Ariegeoise Cyclosportive
28th June 2014 - Starting in Tarascon-sur-Ariege with three courses on offer: grand circuit 163km (4,050m climbing); petit route 106km (2,750m climbing); and the cyclotouriste 77km (1,000m climbing). Entry cost includes a shirt and post race food and is between €41 and €47 depending on distance. Visit the race website for further details.

La Pyreneenne Cyclosportive
6th July 2014 - Departing from St-Lary-Soulan. The route is yet to be released. Further details are available on the race web site.

La Montée de Superbagnères Time Trial
15th July 2014 - Time trial up the famous TDF climb of Superbagneres. Departs Luchon at 630m to finish at 1,800m altitude at the ski station of Superbagneres.

Trophee de la Barousse
19th July 2014 - MTB race starting just 800m from us offering a challenging but scenic route within the Barousse valley. More details will be announced shortly.
La Montée de Peyragudes Time Trial
3rd August 2014 - Starting in Loudenvielle, time trial up the Peyresourde to finish at the ski station Peyragudes.

Tour des Pyrenees
6th - 8th August 2014 - This is a professional UCI 3 day stage race around the Midi- Pyrénées involving both the French and Spanish sides of the Pyrénées.

La Barousse-Balès Cyclosportive
10th August 2014 - A mountainous cyclosportive, starting and finishing just 4km from us at Izaourt. There are two distances on offer - 138km including the Col d'Azet, Col de Peyresourde and Port de Bales, or 117km including Col de Peyresourde and Port de Bales (altitude 1,755m). Race entry is €30 (before 1st August and €33 from 2nd August and includes a post race meal. There is also a cyclotouriste route of 80km through the rolling foothills. La Transpyrenees Comminges Mtb
7th September 2014 - This is the 13th edition of the Transpyrenees Cross-country mountain bike race. It is labelled a 'Rando d'Or', one of only 13 events in France. There are 4 distances on offer: 25, 40, 55 and 80km. Further details of courses and entry fees to be announced.

La Lapebie Cyclosportive
7th September 2014 - 2014 marks the 26th running of this popular cyclosportive. Departing from Luchon, there are three courses available: 151km with 2,800m of climbing; 117km with 2,300m of climbing and 69km with 1,300m of climbing. All three routes take in the hors category Port de Bales. Visit the race website for further details.

Portet d'Aspet Contre-la-Montre
13th September 2014 - A mountain time trial starting from the town of Aspet to the summit of Portet d'Aspet. It's 14km long with 626m of climbing.

Fabio Casartelli Cyclosportive
14th September 2014 - Starting from the town of Saint Girons, there are two courses available: the grand circuit 130km (3,072m climbing) or the petite route 110km (2,083m climbing).

Val d'Aran Cycling Tour (1 day event)
September 2014 - There are 4 mountain climbs over a distance of 145km. The climbs include the Col de Portilllon (twice), Port de Bales and the unknown Guardader d'Arres in Spain. Further details are available on the race web site.

Aran Bike
September 2014 - 11th running of this popular mountain biking event in Val d'Aran. Two distances available: 40km with 1,500m of climbing or 20km with 800m of climbing. Entry fee is €35.

La Tarbaise Cyclosportive
28th September 2014 - Starting in Tarbes, there are two courses on offer: grand circuit 120km (1,237m of climbing) or the petit circuit 75km (592m of climbing). Entry fee is around €14, excluding food.
Midi Pyrenees Cup - Trophée du Lac d’Oô Mtb
28th September 2014 - 16.5km cross-country mountain bike race departing St Aventin, near the ski town of Luchon to finish on a big climb at the high altitude Lake of Lac d'Oô. There is 750m of climbing and the course record, set by current world champion Julien Absalon is 58 minutes, 36 seconds. Entry fee to be announced.
