have incorporated a cyclosportive event into their Pyrenean visit for the
experience of it or as part of their training plan.
If you would like to enter any of the following races/ events
listed below (or any others not mentioned here), we can assist
with race entries and provide logistical support, if required. |

Please note that to enter any cyclosportive event, it is required that you have a suitable race license such as FFC (please note, British Cycling Federation licenses are not accepted) or provide a medical certificate from your doctor stating that you are fit to compete in such an event.
Ronde de L'Isard
20th - 23rd May 2010 - International U23 4 day stage race in the Midi Pyrenees. See the stage finish on day one in St-Gaudens or watch the race en-route on stage four on the first climb of the day - the Portet d'Aspet.

La Luchonnaise Cyclosportive
29th May 2010 - 103km or 125km distance with 1,743m and 2,380m of climbing respectively. Both routes depart from Luchon and finish at the Peyragudes ski station. |

Montee du Geant au Tourmalet
5th June 2010 - To celebrate 100 years of the Tourmalet in the TDF the regional council is organising a free festival to ride the Tourmalet in the company of four times winner of the TDF, Bernard Hinault. There will be three free food stops enroute where you can sample regional products and listen to traditional pyrenean music. During the event the famous Geant sculpture will also be transported to the sumit of the Tourmalet for the summer.

La Pyreneenne Cyclosportive
12th June 2010 - Departing from Bagneres-de-Bigorre, there are two routes to choose from: 118km with 2,550m of climbing or 174km with 3,250m of climbing. Entry fee between 28 and 35 Euros. Further details are available on the race

18th - 20th June 2010 - La Route de Sud is a UCI 3 day stage race around the Midi-Pyrénées.
Now in its 34th edition (created in 1977), it attracts many
of the world's top professionals. Watch the finish of stage 1 in nearby St Gaudens. The following morning, mingle with the riders as they sign on and prepare for the departure of a short stage which passes our front door. In the afternoon catch the riders on their way to the summit of Peyragudes during an individual mountain time trial.

Pedals de Foc Mtb Raid
25th, 26th and 27th June 2010 - Cross-country mountain bike raid in the Val d'Aran, Spain. 230km with 6,000m of climbing/ descending. Entry fee is €190 before 1st May and €240 thereafter. Accommodation, food and other services are included in the entry fee.

L'Ariegeoise Cyclosportive
26th June 2010 - Starting in Tarascon-sur-Ariege with three courses on offer:
grand circuit 163km (3,121m climbing); petit route 101km (2,408m
climbing); and the cyclotouriste 77km (683m climbing). Entry
cost includes a shirt and post race food and is between €28
and €34 depending on distance. |

La Hubert Arbes Cyclosportive
4th July 2010 - Departing from Lourdes, there is a choice of two routes: 107km
or 159km. Both routes ascend the east side of the famous Col
du Tourmalet. Following the descent, the shorter routes heads
directly back to Lourdes whilst the longer route takes in the
col des Borderes and col du Soulor. Entry fee is €25. On-line

4th - 8th August 2010 - This is a professional UCI 5 day stage race around the Midi-
Pyrénées involving both the French and Spanish sides of the
Pyrénées.

La Barousse-Balès Cyclosportive
8th August 2010 - A mountainous cyclosportive, starting and finishing just 5km
from us at Loures-Barousse. There
are two distances on offer - 147km including the Col de Peyresoude and Port de Bales, or 105km including Port de Bales (altitude
1,755m). Race entry is €27 and includes a post race meal. There is also a cyclotouriste route of 68km which includes the Col des Ares and finishes in our village. Race entry is €8 excluding food . Please contact us for entry forms. Further

15th August 2010 - Time trial up the famous TDF climb of Superbagneres. Departs Luchon at 630m to finish at 1,800m altitude at the ski station of Superbagneres.

Vuelta a Espana Pro Tour
28th August - 19th September 2010 - 2010 sees the Vuelta celebrate its 75th anniversary. Starting in Seville with a night time team time trial, the Vuelta promises to be an exciting race. The race heads to the Pyrenees on 8th September for Stage 11 when riders will face an uphill ride to the mountain top finish (1,900m) of Pal, Vallnord, Andorra. The following day, the riders will leave Andorra and the Pyrenees for a relatively flat stage finishing in Lleida.

La Transpyrenees Comminges Mtb
5th September 2010 - This is the 10th edition of the Transpyrenees Cross-country mountain bike race. There are 4 distances on offer: 25, 40, 55 and 80km. Further details of courses and entry fees to be announced.

5th September 2010 - 2010 marks the 22nd running of this popular cyclosportive. Departing
from Luchon, there are three courses available: 156km with 3,400m
of climbing, including the hors category Port de Bales; 107km
with 2,185m of climbing and 59km with 870m of climbing. All
three routes cross the border to Spain at Fos and return to

Midi Pyrenees Cup - Trophée du Lac d’Oô Mtb
12th September 2010 - 16.5km cross-country mountain bike race departing St Aventin,
near ski town of Luchon to finish on a big climb at the high
altitude Lake of Lac d'Oô. There is 750m of climbing and the
course record, set by current world champion Julien Abdalson is 58 minutes, 36 seconds. Entry fee to be announced. |

26th September 2010 - Starting in Tarbes, there are two courses on offer: grand circuit 120km (1,237m of climbing) or the petit circuit 75km (592m of climbing). Entry fee is around €14, excluding food. |
